Dejan Kulusevski is set to return to Tottenham's matchday squad when they welcome Coventry City to North London on Monday night.
For a long time there were few suggestions as to when the 26-year-old would return, prompting worry amongst Spurs supporters in the midst of an already dismal 2025/26 campaign.
Kulusevski underwent knee surgery in May of 2025 and therefore missed the entirety of the 2025/26 term for the North London outfit, an undoubted blow for Spurs who lacked creativity and flair for much of the term.
He subsequently missed out on Sweden's 2026 World Cup campaign in The States, with Graham Potter's side advancing to the round of 32 before being knocked out by eventual semi-finalists France.
In a major boost for Spurs, manager Roberto De Zerbi confirmed that after a lengthy layoff, the Swede is ready to return to the squad when his side face newly promoted Coventry at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday 19th October.
He said: “Yes, Kulusevski on the bench. We had a meeting with the medical staff, they gave the okay and it's great news.”
With Kulusevski set to make his return to professional football, we take a look at the last time that the creative winger played a competitive game.
Kulusevski last made a competitive appearance for Tottenham on 11th May 2025 against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
A challenge with former Eagle Marc Guehi ended the Swede's participation in the match in the 19th minute of the game, ruling him out of Spurs' Europa League final clash against Manchester United just 10 days later.
Tottenham went on to lose the dead rubber contest 2-0, and Dejan Kulusevski is set to return after over 17 months on the sidelines.
