Despite being in the midst of a relatively poor run of form, Cardiff City remain on course to be promoted back to the Championship this season.
A 4-1 win over AFC Wimbledon in February saw the Bluebirds move two points clear at the top of the table in League One, with securing the league title appearing to be little more than a formality for Brian Barry-Murphy's side.
Three wins from their next nine league games saw Cardiff lose significant ground to Lincoln City in the title race, but the Welsh side remain within touching distance of automatic promotion to the second tier as we approach the decisive final weeks of the campaign.
Cardiff currently sit nine points clear of nearest challengers Bolton - who have played one extra game - and 11 clear of Bradford City, who also have four matches remaining.
Stockport County also remain in contention. Dave Challinor's side have played two fewer games than the second-placed team and are 12 points away from the automatic places after beating Wimbledon on Wednesday night.
On Saturday, Cardiff travel to the Madejski Stadium to take on Reading, with a win potentially enough to seal a return to the second tier - provided other results go their way.
If they are able to claim all three points this weekend Cardiff will be on 85 points with three games remaining, making their position unassailable for promotion rivals Bolton.
However, both Bradford and Stockport could mathematically catch up, though both teams have a significantly worse goal difference and Cardiff would need to lose all of their remaining fixtures.
If Cardiff beat Reading on Saturday and Stockport drop points away to Exeter City the Welsh side's promotion will be confirmed on Saturday afternoon.
