Following a tough start to the season under Ruben Amorim, Manchester United are close to a UEFA Champions League return under interim manager Michael Carrick.
After missing out on European football entirely last season, Manchester United have utilised their reduced workload to be in pole position for a UEFA Champions League spot ahead of 2026/27.
The Red Devils found themselves in sixth place, behind fifth place Chelsea on goal difference in January, which saw Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim handed his P45.
Former Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick was then appointed as interim manager for the rest of the season and has overseen a revival at Old Trafford in his 12 matches in charge of the club, beating the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Chelsea to surge to third in the standings.
With their draw away at Sunderland last weekend, Manchester United are now guaranteed to finish third in the Premier League table, guaranteeing themselves qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
