We take a look at what options appear to be available to Oleksandr Usyk after the Ukrainian star further cemented his boxing legacy with a stunning second victory over Tyson Fury.
The Kingdom Arena in Riyadh was once again the venue chosen to stage the latest chapter of this intriguing heavyweight story between two of the blue-riband divisions all-time greats.
There's no doubt about it, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are the current number one and number two in the division, and Saturday night's engrossing spectacle delivered all we hoped for, and more.
Usyk is fully deserving of every accolade and piece of praise thrown his way - he is a true generational fighter and arguably the greatest of the 21st century.
But what's next for the classy, and seemingly unbeatable, Ukrainian?
We take a look at some of his potential options...
The obvious pick for the 37-year-old is to face the victor of the IBF heavyweight title clash on Saturday 22nd February, 2025 - Daniel Dubois or Joseph Parker.
Dubois’ choice to interrupt Usyk’s post-fight interview with DAZN’s Ade Oladipo turned a gate-crashing moment into car crash television, and Usyk looked annoyed by the British fighter's actions.
Controversy surrounding the first showdown between the pair last year, when Dubois felt that his body shot, which forced Usyk down to his knees, was a legitimate and scoring punch, and not the 'low blow' the official classed it as.
Usyk made no secret of the fact that he'd like a second crack at Dubois, especially with 'undisputed' on the line for a second time, but Parker will certainly be no gimmee for 'DDD'.
Chinese monster Zhilei Zhang and Agit Kabayel meet in a WBC final eliminator in the New Year, and the winner will immediately call for a deserved world title shot.
What makes this of particular appeal is if Zhang is able to bounce back from his defeat at the hands of Joseph Parker.
There has been talk of the Chinese heavyweight fighting in his home country, and a fight against the reigning king of the heavyweight division would likely draw a crowd in excess of 100k.
German power-puncher Kabayel is fearsome too, however, and will fancy his chances of claiming the scalp of Zhang, in Riyadh in February, before turning his attentions to Usyk.
There are those that look at Oleksandr Usyk's remarkable heavyweight résumé and ask, ‘What is there left for him to do?’
Well, not a great deal it appears, which could sway a potential decision to drop back down to the cruiserweight division that he previously fully unified.
He became undisputed at that level in 2018, before doing the same at heavyweight earlier this year.
Asutralia's Jai Opetaia is a monster at 200lbs, and he would definitely welcome Usyk with open arms - and what a fight that would be!
