Trent Alexander-Arnold says his move to Real Madrid is a 'dream come true'.
Speaking at his unveiling as a Real Madrid player, Alexander-Arnold spoke in fluent Spanish, saying: "Signing for a club like Real Madrid doesn’t happen every day.
"It’s a dream come true. I feel incredibly happy and proud to be here. I want to show Real Madrid fans how I play. I do realise I am signing for Real Madrid, the demands are high. I'm going to gave my all for Real Madrid and the fans.
"I want to win many titles. I want to be a winner here and playing alongside the best players in the world."
Alexander-Arnold making the effort to speak Spanish will go down extremely well with the fans. Jude Bellingham admitted he found it tough to learn the language when moving to La Liga, while Gareth Bale's seeming lack of desire to learn Spanish did little to ingratiate himself with the fans.
By contrast, Steve McManaman's attempts at integration made him a fans' favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu and Alexander-Arnold has certainly got off on the right foot.
Speaking English in his press conference, Alexander-Arnold said he'd been learning Spanish for 'a few months'.
Alexander-Arnold continued: "Very, very exciting for me. A day that I have been waiting for a long time now. Very excited, very happy, very proud to be here.
"It's a dream to be here but there is still a lot of hard work to do and I'm excited to get started straight away. It's an exciting time for me.
"To clear that up, by waiting a long time I mean a couple of weeks. Not years.
"But I am very excited be here. Whether you support the club or not, you have to respect the trophies that the club win. No matter what, that has been always there for me. I have always admired players and clubs that win trophies.
"I am no stranger to seeing Real Madrid win trophies. A big reason of why I joined was to be a part of that amazing history the club has got. Be a part of the success going forward, joining an exciting young team with a lot of potential that has the manager to go and win trophies."
