Hernandez suffered his first defeat in more than five years back in February when he was stopped by current middleweight king Sean Strickland in Houston, Texas.
Prior to that the dominant grappler had recorded eight straight victories inside the Octagon and picked up four Performance of the Night bonuses along the way.
This weekend he will face Rodrigues, a perennial contender at 185lbs currently riding a three-fight win streak and looking to stake his claim for a title shot.
