West Ham United are attempting to complete a deal to sign Swansea City defender Ben Cabango.
Journalist Pete O'Rourke has reported that the Hammers are exploring a move to sign the player before the transfer window shuts.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to add a centre-back to his squad as he looks to improve on the club's underwhelming start to life in the Championship.
West Ham have the likes of Max Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Airidas Golambeckis to call upon at the heart of defence.
The possible arrival of Cabango would provide a further option and some much-needed Championship experience.
Cabango is a product of the Swansea academy and he has made over 250 appearances for the club.
He has also won 16 caps for Wales and he has been one of the most consistent second-tier defenders in recent seasons.
Whilst the Swans have enjoyed a strong start to the season, Cabango could find a move to West Ham difficult to turn down if a deal materialises.
