West Ham have discovered how long they will be without star defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Hammers fans have been left with a nervous wait on a fitness update since the Greek defender picked up a knock late on against Southampton on Saturday.
The 28-year-old has been a key player in Nuno Espirito Santo's side so far this season, starting all but one Championship game.
Early signs have not been good, with some suggesting that Mavropanos could be sidelined for an extended period of time.
However, a scan that the former Arsenal defender underwent this week revealed that the injury to his knee is not as bad as first feared. According to the Athletic, Mavropanos could be back in action at the London Stadium just before the November international break.
West Ham will be hoping that their centre-back will be fit enough to return for the club's final game before the break, against Blackburn Rovers on 7th November.
In the mean time, Nuno will be without Mavropanos for two matches: Saturday's home clash with West Brom and next Wednesday's trip to Wales where they will face Cardiff City.
Mavropanos' defensive partner, Max Kilman, has played every Championship minute so far this campaign and is now likely to be joined by Nottingham Forest loanee Morato. The Hammers could also choose to play Joel Veltman more centrally, or opt to hand minutes to 18-year-old academy product Airidas Golambeckis.
Aside from his outstanding defensive contribution, Mavropanos has also proven a threat at the other end of the pitch this season, netting five times in the second tier. His last goal came during West Ham's midweek 6-0 thrashing of Lincoln on 14th October.
