In football, Scotland will be among the countries watching on when the main event gets underway in Qatar this weekend, but Steve Clarke's side are in friendly action when they face Turkey, who also failed to make it to the World Cup this year, at 17:00.

Despite failing to qualify for Qatar, Clarke's men will be hoping to maintain their recent fine form, having won three of their last four games - all in the Nations League. Turkey, meanwhile, must try and bounce back from an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to traditional international minnows Faroe Islands last time out.

Scotland are 11/4 to win, a home victory is 1/1 and the draw is 11/5.

Amongst the other friendly football action on Wednesday, Argentina warm up for the World Cup with a game against United Arab Emirates, Germany similarly build up for the tournament by taking on Oman at 17:00, and Croatia play Saudi Arabia at 10:00.

There are also two more FA Cup first-round replays scheduled with League Two outfit Salford City entertaining Peterborough from the division above at 19:45, while non-league Woking will be hoping to cause an upset when they host League One Oxford in their replay, also at 19:45.

Salford are 14/5 to win in the full-time result market, a draw is 13/5 and a Posh win is 10/11.

Woking are 10/3 to win in 90 minutes, a draw at full-time is available at 11/4, and an Oxford win is 4/5.

O'Sullivan back at the table as UK Championship continues

The second round of the UK Championship continues in York with Ronnie O'Sullivan, who beat Matthew Stevens 6-2 in the first round, up against China's Zhou Yuelong.

O'Sullivan is 9/4 to win the tournament and 1/4 to see off Zhou, who is a 3/1 chance for victory on Wednesday.

Also in second-round action are Luca Brecel, who plays Tom Ford, while it's Ryan Day versus Sam Craigie and Kyren Wilson up against Mark Allen at the Barbican.
