The World Boxing Council (WBC) is one of the four major boxing sanctioning bodies, alongside the World Boxing Association (WBA), the International Boxing Federation (IBF), and the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
The WBC was founded in 1963 by a group of 11 countries, including the United States, Mexico, and Great Britain, with its headquarters being located in Mexico City.
