Potential Next Club - Blue

The World Cup always delivers an unexpected batch of stars and this year's edition is no different.

Cape Verde's heroic goalless draw against reigning European champions Spain thrust Vozinha into the spotlight after the veteran goalkeeper produced a multitude of vital saves to keep La Roja at bay.

Overnight, Vozinha became a viral sensation. The 40-year-old watched his Instagram followers increase from 50k to a staggering 5 million, a tally which has now increased to 25m - making him the most popular goalkeeper on the social media platform.

But Vozinha and Cape Verde were not finished. Frustrating Uruguay with a 2-2 draw in Miami, another stalemate, this time with Saudi Arabia, was enough to see them progress to the knockout stages as runners-up to Spain in Group H.

It set up a dream tie with Argentina in the Last 32, and Cape Verde gave the holders a real scare. Twice Bubista's side came from behind against La Albiceleste, with Vozinha producing a catalogue of crucial saves to tame Lionel Messi & Co.

Argentina ultimately advanced following a Diney Borges own goal in the second half of extra time, but Vozinha and Cape Verde had won the hearts of every neutral.

Vozinha's performances had sparked interest around his club career and the goalkeeper is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Portuguese side Chaves.

We take a look at where the World Cup hero might venture next in his career.

Vozinho potential next club

Inter Miami

It would be a remarkable move if it comes to fruition but reports from Portuguese media suggest MLS side Inter Miami are willing to snap up Vozinha.

Whilst there may be doubts over Vozinha's ability to step up to the level following a somewhat nomadic career where he's spent the last two seasons in the second tier of Portugal, the marketing opportunity alone is a gold mine for Inter Miami.

Vozinha revealed his idol was Messi and the opportunity to share a dressing room with the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner would be another dream moment for the goalkeeper.

Avaí

According to Fabrizio Romano, Avaí are one of two Brazilian Serie B sides to make contact with Vozinha.

However, Avaí's recent financial plight may scupper any pursuit of Vozinha, who is carefully considering his options and may wish to challenge himself at a higher level than the second tier of Brazilian football.

Atlético Goianiense

Atlético Goianiense are the other Brazilian side reported to be in the mix for Vozinha and similarly to Avaí, they're struggling in the bottom half of the Brasileiro Série B.

The club's president, Adson Batista, revealed no negotations have taken place at this stage, but the goalkeeper was offered to the Goiânia city outfit.

Alverca

Is there a possibility Vozinha could remain in Portugal?

Co-owned by Real Madrid and Brazil superstar Vinicius Junior, Alverca have enjoyed a meteoric rise after achieving back-to-back promotions into the Portuguese first division before securing an 11th-place finish in their first top-flight campaign.

Custódio Castro will be looking to strengthen this summer and Vozinha could provide adequate competition in the goalkeeping department.
