What a great weekend of sport! Join bet365 as we look back at Arsenal extending their lead in the Premier League, 6 Scores Challenge pain, the NFL playoffs delivering comeback thrills and above all, the return of Love Island!
An own goal from Hugo Lloris, and a delightful effort from Martin Ødegaard were enough to see Arsenal defeat North London rivals Tottenham, and move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.
In what was expected to be an explosive affair, Arsenal’s composure shone through in a convincing display. The 2-0 win secured a league double over Spurs, and saw the Gunners outright title odds cut to 5/6.
Manchester City were 1/5 when they hammered rivals United 6-3 in early October, with the Red Devils at 125/1 and Arsenal at 8/1 at that point. At almost the halfway point in the season, Arsenal are now favourites for a first title since 2004.

bet365’s Steve Freeth: “The Gunners were 50/1 in the summer, and have been consistently written off this season. Pep Guardiola’s City had retained the favourites tag despite some indifferent performances, until now.
“A thoroughly impressive showing, in their fiercest rival’s back yard, has finally seen bet365 give Arsenal favourite status with a mouth-watering match up against Manchester United next weekend – the only team to beat them so far this season.”

The Premier League returned at the weekend and so did the 6 Scores Challenge, following the FA Cup Third Round and back-to-back rounds of the 4 Scores Challenge.
We have still yet to see a £1million jackpot winner this season, we have gone close however. There was heartbreak for one unlucky bet365 customer recently, with Fred's 87th minute goal for Manchester United against Nottingham Forest on December 27th denying what would have been the first £1million pay-out of the season.

Brighton’s 3-0 victory, in combination with Forest’s 2-0 derby win over Leicester eliminated more than 99% of all players. When Brentford saw off Bournemouth 2-0, we were down to just eight players, who would all go on to miss out on the jackpot.
Sunday’s results were very popular as it turned out, with home wins for both Chelsea and Newcastle, as well as a heavily predicted victory for Arsenal.

Fans of the LA Chargers were inconsolable on Saturday night after blowing a 27-0 first-half lead versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars roared into life in the second-half, storming back for a 31-30 victory and a place in the AFC divisional round.
bet365 customers who had backed the Chargers in a pre-game Straight Bet, Parlay or Same Game Parlay, were less distraught however. Thanks to bet365’s NFL Early Payout Offer, LA were paid out as a winning bet in the first quarter.
Running back Austin Eleker’s takeaway touchdown, put his team 17-0 in front, which was extended to 27-0, before the Jaguars’ unbelievable second-half recovery.
The NFL Early Payout Offer was invoked on two further occasions over a thrilling weekend of wild-card football.
We paid out on the Bills in the 2nd quarter of their clash with the Dolphins, following Tyler Bass’s 33yd field goal. Thanks to the payout, bet365 customers who had backed the Bills did not have to suffer the nerves caused by Jeff Wilson’s 4th quarter TD for the Dolphins, which put Miami back within touching distance.
The Bills will now face an emotional game against the Cincinnati Bengals, in a rematch of the regular season game that was cancelled due to Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest.
San Francisco 49ers grabbed their NFL divisional round spot with both hands, destroying the Seahawks 41-23. The 49ers took the game away from the Seahawks in the second-half, outscoring their opponents 25-6.
The 4th quarter saw bet365’s NFL Early Payout offer pay out, when Deebo Samuel’s electrifying 74-yard catch run extended the 49ers lead to 17 points.

Love Island 2023 hits our screens tonight, and the first 10 contestants have already been announced. A semi-pro rugby player, an actress and a farmer are among those heading into the villa searching for love.
The second winter series, which gets underway at 9pm, will also be the first to be presented by Maya Jama, who has replaced Laura Whitmore as host.
Instead of the usual Mallorcan setting, the latest series will be filmed in a South African mansion. The property boasts a large swimming pool with mountain views and a customary fire pit. The mansion is bordered by picturesque vineyards and wild springboks graze freely in the surrounding plains.
Everything is in place for this year’s love-seekers as they attempt to follow in the footsteps of last season’s winners Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti.
As Love Island has grown in popularity, the betting on the event has become almost as competitive and interesting as the drama itself. This year is no different and there are markets available on who will be crowned the top man and woman in South Africa.
Will Young is the 11/4 favourite in the male category, closely followed by 3/1 chances Kai Fagen and Shaq Muhammad.
Anna-May Robey, Olivia Hawkins and Lana Jenkins are the 3/1 co-favourites in what appears a competitive top woman section.
