Adelaide United coach Carl Veart praised the work ethic of his players after they moved to third on the A-League ladder with a rare win in Perth.
Adelaide are priced at 16/1 to win the A-League minor premiership this season and continue to go from strength-to-strength under the leadership of Veart.
Hard-fought win
Played in hot conditions at HBF Park, both sides struggled to create too many chances in the first half before Hiroshi Ibusuki broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time.
Subsitute Mo Toure made it 2-0 soon after the break to wrap up the win, although United did suffer a late scare when conceding a last-minute penalty.

Bruno Fornaroli stepped up to fire home from the spot but thankfully for the Reds they managed to see the game out and earn a crucial three points.
"It’s a difficult place to come to, Perth," Veart told reporters in the post-match press conference. "I don’t think we’ve won here for quite a few years, we knew it was going to be tough, and give the boys credit.
"They dug in, fought hard and got the three points. To get the goal just right on half-time was a great time to score."
Ibusuki praise
Ibusuki continues to shine since arriving at Adelaide and has now scored four goals in seven games. The 31-year-old is sure to play a huge role in the push for the grand final and Veart is delighted to have him.
"He’s fitted in seamlessly with the group," Veart added. "You can see his touches, the way he holds the ball up, the way he brings other players into the game. So we’ve been very fortunate to get Hiroshi to the Club."
