Last year's Dubai World Cup winner Ushba Tesoro has been priced up as the 11/4 favourite to win this year's race at Meydan.
Ushba Tesoro switched from turf races to dirt in the build up to the 2023 Dubai World Cup as he claimed Group 1 victories in the Tokyo Daishoten and the Kawasai Kinen.
He then became the second Japanese-trained horse to win the prestigious race following Victoire Pisa's success in 2011, and it was also his first ever start overseas as jockey Yuga Kawada produced a scintillating ride.
This year's Dubai World Cup provides Ushba Tesoro with the opportunity to replicate the great Thunder Show by becoming a multiple winner of the race.
Since his Dubai World Cup triumph, he has picked up a pair of wins on home soil, with a fifth-placed finish in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita sandwiched in between.
Last time out, Ushba Tesoro was narrowly beaten by Senor Buscador in the world's richest horse race, the Saudi Cup, and the duo will resume their rivalry just a month on from their Riyadh tussle.
