Everything you need to know ahead of the 2024 US Open Pool Championship as Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City plays host to the latest staging of the 256-player event.
The US Open Pool Championship is scheduled to get underway on Monday 19th August and run through until the final on Saturday 24th August, 2024.
Due to the time difference between the UK and United States, matches will take place at varying times of the day, with the action starting at around 15:00 (BST) and concluding in the early hours of the following day.
The US Open Pool Championship will be held at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City, USA.
The Nineball tournament, which is part of the World Nineball Tour, is a race to nine frames until the last 16 where it then becomes the first to 11.
With the event being a double-elimination format, players who lose their matches will be offered a second opportunity to progress meaning there will be a large number of tables used across the six day competition.
Loser round matches will be a race to eight frames.
Sky Sports will be broadcasting all of the action, whilst the earlier rounds of the tournament will be available to stream live through the official Matchroom Pool YouTube channel.
Barry Hearn OBE, Matchroom Sports President, and Andy Goldstein, renowned TalkSport Radio host, have both been awarded wildcard slots for the 2024 event.
Barry Hearn said: "To walk out there and play against one of 128 players from the World Nineball Tour, which are the 128 best Nineball players in the world, is incredible… If I win one rack in the first round, I’ll sleep happy."
Responding to Hearn’s doubts of either of the two doing well, Andy Goldstein said: "I think you underestimate me… I actually think I have a chance at winning it.”
In preparation for their participation, the pair have dedicated themselves to a relentless training regime in the months leading up to the event.
Barry Hearn will make his WNT debut on Tuesday 20th August when he takes on Polish ace Konrad Juszcyszyn.
The first round match is scheduled to get underway at 16:30 (BST), with the action being screened live on Matchroom Pool's YouTube channel.

Darren Appleton is Britain's most successful player in the competition, boasting two tournament titles.
A prize pot of over $300,000 will be at stake in the US Open Pool Championship, with $50,000 being awarded to the winner.
