Home favourite Coco Gauff will continue her bid for a second consecutive US Open title when she takes on Ukrainian Elina Svitolina in the third round.

Third seed Gauff is yet to drop a set at Flushing Meadows this year, prevailing against Varvara Gracheva of France in the first round and Tatjana Maria of Germany in the second round.

Svitolina should prove a tough challenge for Gauff in the third round, with the 27th seed a three-time Grand Slam semi-finalist including a run to the last four at the US Open in 2019.
