The year's first major is upon us as the world's best players head to Augusta, Georgia for the US Masters.
Perhaps the most iconic golf course in the world, Augusta National plays host to the US Masters every April -- with the exception of the Covid-impacted 2020 edition which was held in November -- in typically excellent conditions.
There have been weather-affected editions in the past, with a cold and gusting wind in 2003 leaving Zach Johnson as the winner with an over-par score. More cold and wet weather saw waterlogged greens in 2023 prompting Tiger Woods's withdrawal after making the cut, while storms in 2024 forced a delay to the start of the tournament.
There are often weather delays at Augusta, but they tend not to last too long, and the venue's Sub-Air system is capable of drying the course out quickly.
There shouldn't be much call for it this year, however, with dry and warm conditions forecast throughout.
