AP McCoy dominated the UK National Hunt Jockeys' Championship for almost two decades.
For many the greatest jumps jockey that has ever lived, McCoy made the title his own, winning it 20 times in succession between 1995/96 all the way up until his eventual retirement in 2014/15.
McCoy also holds the record for the most winners in a single season, striking 289 times in 2001/02.
He actually has the top four winning-most seasons to his name, with Sean Bowen's 2025/26 tally of 241 winners putting him sixth on the all-time list. Bowen has been crowned champion jockey twice after wrestling the championship away from Harry Cobden.

Bowen was crowned champion jockey for the second time in 2025/26, racking up an outstanding tally of 241 winners.
Although he is characterised by his never-say-die attitude to riding, he is also capable of delivering classy rides on the biggest stage. Last season he steered Haiti Couleurs to success in the Welsh Grand National and Denman Chase.
