UK Championship Odds: Judd Trump & Ronnie O'Sullivan head the betting for York Barbican crown

Judd Trump has been installed as the narrow favourite to capture his second UK Championship crown as the York major gets underway this weekend.

The 35-year-old tasted success in Yorkshire for the first and only time in his career in 2011, and despite reaching two more finals since, hasn't yet been able to add to his haul.

Ronnie O'Sullivan boasts tremendous pedigree in this event though, having captured the crown for a record-extending eighth time 12 months ago, and is expected to enjoy another deep run this time around.

'The Rocket' has made no secret of the fact that the UK Championship holds an incredibly special place in his heart, and has previously described it as having more importance to him than the World Championship.

O'Sullivan flicked the genius switch during the final three fames of last year's showpiece final against Ding Junhui, racing to a 10-7 success having been locked at seven apiece.

It's worth noting that the last five editions of the competition have produced five different winners, which could bode well for reigning World Champion Kyren Wilson who heads to York chasing his maiden UK Championship title.

Mark Selby and qualifier Neil Robertson are also expected to be well-backed by punters, as is Chinese star Zhao Xintong, who famously reigned supreme in the 2021 final.
