UFC Fight Night will once again head to Las Vegas in April with middleweights Marvin Vettori and Brendan Allen set to headline the card.
Italian fighter Vettori will be looking to get back on track after suffering three defeats across his last five bouts, but he is likely to face a stern test against American Allen, who is on a six-fight winning streak.
Here is everything you need to know ahead of UFC Fight Night: Vettori v Allen.
This UFC Fight Night is scheduled for Saturday 6th April, 2024, although due to the time difference in Las Vegas, the majority of the action for UK viewers will take place on Sunday 7th April.
The prelims are scheduled to get underway at 20:00 UK time, while the main card will begin at 23:00, meaning the headline fight between Vettori and Allen is unlikely to take place until the early hours of the morning.
The UFC is no stranger to Las Vegas and this event will mark the fifth time the organisation has held a fight night in the state of Nevada since the turn of the year.
For all four of those previous events in 2024, the UFC Apex has been the venue and that will be the case again on 6th April.
This will be the 95th time the organisation has held an event at the UFC Apex, a venue that only opened in June 2019 and staged its first event the following May when Gilbert Burns claimed a unanimous decision victory over Tyron Woodley in a welterweight contest.
The main card will be available for UK viewers to watch on TNT Sports from 23:00, while fans can also catch the entire night, including the prelims, with a UFC fight pass on the UFC website.
Vettori is an experienced fighter and he boasts an MMA record of 19-7-1, but only two of those 19 wins have come via knockout.
A consistent presence in the middleweight division, Vettori finally got his shot at that title in June 2021 at UFC 263, but he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Israel Adesanya.
Since that defeat, the Italian Dream has claimed wins against Paulo Costa and Roman Dolidze - the latter at light heavyweight level - either side of a defeat to Robert Whittaker.
The 30-year-old's most recent bout also ended in a defeat, as he found Jared Cannonier too hot to handle at the UFC Apex in June 2023, meaning he has now lost three of his last five fights.
Vettori will be aiming to get back on track against Allen and he remains a prominent player in the middleweight division, as he is currently at #5 in the rankings.
South Carolina native Allen currently holds an MMA record of 23-5-0 and he has won 11 of his 13 fights since stepping into the UFC.
The 28-year-old's only defeats during that run have been against current middleweight belt holder Sean Strickland in November 2020 and fellow American Chris Curtis the following December, with both losses coming via TKO.
Since that defeat to Curtis, Allen has registered six wins on the spin, first stopping Sam Alvey in the second round of their light heavyweight contest before returning to middleweight level to beat Jacob Malkoun, Krzysztof Jotko, Andre Muniz, Bruno Silva and most recently Paul Craig in November 2023.
The final four of those victories all came via submission and Allen will now be hoping, as the #8 ranked contender in the middleweight division, he can make the step up against #5 Vettori, with both men eyeing a shot at the UFC Middleweight title in the near future.
The full fight card for this event is yet to be announced, with the only confirmed bout being the headline contest between Vettori and Allen.
