His first fight on a big card came in 2021 when he beat Karl Roberson thanks to an ankle lock and he has only lost once since then, Chris Curtis getting the better of him in December 2021.

Allen has since pushed on, though, and while he beat Sam Alvey at light heavyweight, he then returned to middleweight in June 2022 to beat Jacob Malkoun. He made his UFC debut in 2016, submitting Henrique da Silva via an armbar in Sacramento. He then lost four of his next six bouts in the UFC before going six unbeaten between September 2019 and March 2022.

Successive defeats to Volkan Oezdemir and Johnny Walker at light heavyweight forced him to change his plans, but his decision to drop down to middleweight was vindicated when he stopped Muniz to win "Performance of the Night" in July this year.
