Edson Barboza and Lerone Murphy will hope to break into the top 10 of the featherweight division when they meet in May at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
The duo are expected to put it all on the line inside the octagon over five rounds and both men will be full of confidence after some strong performances in recent months.
The fight is scheduled to take place on Saturday 18th May, but with the event taking place in Las Vegas, the card will run into Sunday 19th May for UK viewers.
The prelims are due to start at 22:00 UK time, while the main card is set to begin three hours later.
The UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada, will once again play host to another UFC Fight Night card.
The Apex is a purpose-built arena owned by the UFC and it has hosted live shows since May 2020.
Fans have already packed into the arena on seven occasions in 2024 and it is expected to host more UFC cards for years to come due to its proximity to the UFC Performance Institute.
The preliminary card and main card will be available to watch on TNT Sports.
Brazilian Barboza has a record of 24-11 as a mixed martial artist, although he does have a solid kickboxing CV, having won 25 of his 28 fights.
His MMA career began in 2009, where he fought on a Real Fighting Championships show, before also competing for Renaissance MMA and Ring of Combat.
The 38-year-old first competed in the UFC in 2010 at UFC 123, beating Mike Lullo in the third round via TKO.
He returned at UFC 128, beating Anthony Njokuani on points, earning himself a Fight of the Night award. He won the same award at UFC 134 after beating Ross Pearson before he stopped Terry Etim with a spinning wheel kick at UFC 142.
That stunning victory over Etim won him Knockout of the Night, Fight of the Night and Knockout of the Year, but he was soon brought back down to earth when he was stopped at UFC 146 by Jamie Varner.
He responded by winning three fights on the spin before losing to Donald Cerrone.
Barboza has never fought for world honours in the UFC and he has struggled to string wins together, although he has a CV to be proud of.
He has shared the octagon with the likes of Cerrone, Tony Ferguson, Anthony Pettis, Khabib Nurmagomedov, taking the latter to points, while he has also fought Dan Hooker and Justin Gaethje.
At 38, he is unlikely to win a world title, but a victory against Murphy could allow him to move into the top 10 in the rankings.
Murphy's record as an MMA fighter is 13-0-1. He started his career in 2016 on a Full Contact Contender card and he won his first eight fights before he was given a chance by Dana White and the UFC bosses.
His debut in the UFC came in September 2019, but he was unable to beat Zubaira Tukhugov, with the pair drawing that bout in Abu Dhabi.
Murphy has since gone from strength to strength in the UFC and he has won five fights in a row.
Ricardo Ramos, Douglas Silva de Andrade, Makwan Amirkhani, Gabriel Santos and Joshua Culibao have all been beaten by Murphy, but he only has two stoppage finishes in the UFC.
A big win over Barboza could be just what he needs to make a big statement and creep into the top 10 in the division.
