The exact time of the ring walks for the headline fight between Grant Dawson and Bobby Green have yet to be confirmed but they are likely to take place in the early hours of Sunday 8th October.
The action will take place at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada, which is located in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area in the United States.
The venue is operated and owned by the UFC and regularly stages UFC events, including UFC Vegas 77 and 78 in July and August of this year.
The Apex was officially opened in June 2019 and was built as a multi-purpose facility that can host live events as well as studio shows.
The broadcast details for UFC Fight Night 229 have yet to be officially released but the event is expected to be shown on TNT Sports.
Dawson is likely to be favourite when taking on Green as he is the No.11 lightweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while 37-year-old Green does not have a ranking.
This will be Dawson's first main-event appearance and he is unbeaten in nine UFC outings. Most recently, the US star claimed a unanimous decision over Damir Ismagulov at UFC on ESPN 48 on 1st July.
Green was also victorious in his last appearance - a third-round submission of Tony Ferguson at UFC 291 on 29th July.
Since making his UFC debut on UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. dos Santos in March 2019, Dawson is unbeaten with eight wins and one draw, which came against Ricky Glenn in October 2021.
The 29-year-old has an impressive 20-1-1 MMA record with only Hugh Pulley getting the better of him way back in April 2016.
The vastly-experienced Green has a UFC record of 11 wins, nine defeats and one draw since his first appearance at UFC 156 in 2013, while is overall MMA record is 30-14-1.
He has victories over the likes of Al Iaquinta, Clay Guida and Josh Thomson on his CV but his win over Ferguson last time out ended a three-bout winless streak.
According to reports, there will be at least 12 fights at UFC Fight Night 229, including the main event between Dawson and Green.
Gutierrez and Jackson's Bantamweight showdown will be one of the highly-anticipated fights on the undercard, while there is a planned Middleweight bout between Joe Pyfer and Abdul Razak Alhassan and a Lightweight bout scheduled between Drew Dober and Ricky Glenn.
Alexander Hernandez is also set to go up against Bill Algeo in the Featherweight category and there's a Women's Strawweight bout between Kanako Murata and Vanessa Demopoulos, amongst others, on the UFC Fight Night 229 card.
