Alex Pereira will make his fourth UFC light heavyweight title defence when taking on top contender Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313.

Pereira has cleared out the light heavyweight division, beating Israel Adesanya, Jan Blachowicz, Jamahal Hill, Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr, with Ankalaev the only contender left.

Ankalaev looked to be the most obvious fight for Pereira prior to his bout with Rountree Jr, with the Dagestani left to out-point Aleksandar Rakic instead.

But the two are finally set to meet in what looks to be an impossibly close fight.

Pereira moved to 7-1 with a win over Israel Adesanya before losing the rematch, prompting a move up to light heavyweight, where he's a perfect 5-0.

Magomed Ankalaev record

After building an 8-0 MMA record, Magomed Ankalaev earned a move to the UFC where he was defeated on his Octagon debut by Scotland's Paul Craig.

He's been undefeated since then, however, fighting to a controversial draw with Jan Blachowicz before his next fight with Johnny Walker was ruled a no contest following an accidental knee.
