Flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja looks to secure his third title defence against UFC debutant Kai Asakura in the main event of the final numbered card of 2024.
Alexandre Pantoja to win fight @ 4/11
Pantoja has already cemented himself as one of the most dominant flyweight champions in history, defending his title in convincing fashion twice.
This fight has come around due to Pantoja's dominance, holding two wins over #1 flyweight contender Brandon Royval and three wins over #2 contender Brandon Moreno, necessitating the arrival of Kai Asakura from RIZIN to freshen up the division.
Kai Asakura arrives in the UFC with a main event and title fight, making him part of the short list of fighters who have done both on their UFC debuts. A former bantamweight champion in RIZIN, Asakura has come down from his usual weight to take a shot at the UFC flyweight title.
The Japanese challenger will hope his punches pack the same power at flyweight as he has won 13 of his fights via knockout. However, the champion has never been knocked out in his career.
