Flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja puts his title on the line for the second time on 4th May, when facing Steve Erceg in Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil’s Pantoja has never been stopped in his UFC career to date and the Brazilian will be determined to maintain that record against the Australian Erceg, for what would be a sixth-straight victory.

Rio de Janeiro in Brazil will be the focus of the UFC world on 4th May, with the Jeunesse Arena the stage.

The arena, which hosts 15,430 spectators for sporting events and was opened in 2007, hosted the UFC’s second event in Brazil for UFC 134: Silva vs. Okami back in August 2011.

Eight other UFC events have been staged at Jeunesse Arena, so UFC 301: Pantoja vs. Erceg will bring up the 10th UFC night for this venue in the Barra da Tijuca area of Rio.

Alexandre Pantoja record

The 33-year-old will head back to the city of his birth for his first fight in his home country.

With 14 UFC fights under his belt, Pantoja (27-5) will defend his flyweight title for a second time in this bout.

Training out of American Top Team, Pantoja has been based in Coconut Creek, Florida and is ranked as the No.7 pound-for-pound fighter on the planet.

Steve Erceg record

The 28-year-old Perth fighter Erceg (12-1) has emerged as a surprise No.1 contender for this fight having only made three appearances in UFC.

Winning all three of those fights, two by decision and one a TKO against Matt Schnell last time out in Las Vegas, Erceg will be the underdog heading to Rio.

The Aussie fight has eight career finishes in 12 wins, with six of those by submission.
