UFC 292: Fight date, schedule, undercard & betting odds

Aljamain Sterling defends his bantamweight title against Sean O'Malley to headline UFC 292, which takes place in Boston, Massachusetts on Saturday 19th August.

The co-main event sees two-time champion Zhang Weili face Amanda Lemos in a women's strawweight championship bout at the iconic TD Garden in Boston.

The experienced American Sterling made his debut in 2011 and has a record of 23 wins and just three defeats, but he will be wary of the power of his compatriot O'Malley.

The 28-year-old's 16 victories include 11 by KO, although Sterling, who is chasing a record fourth successful defence of his title, has predicted that he will defeat O'Malley in the second round of the five-round contest.

O'Malley got back to winning ways with a split-decision victory over Petr Yan at UFC 280 last October. His previous fight was a no contest after an accidental eye poke ended opponent Pedro Munhoz's chances.

Lemos, challenging Weili for the women's strawweight title in the co-main, has earned her shot thanks to an impressive series of performances including stoppages of Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson-Gomez.

It promises to be a compelling clash, with Lemos claiming "it won't go the distance - it's either a knockout or a submission, that's what I'm coming after", and there is plenty of intrigue on the rest of the UFC 292 card too.

Welterweights Geoff Neal and Ian Garry clash in the octagon in Boston, as do bantamweights Cody Garbrandt and Mario Bautista.

Marlon Vera had been due to take on Henry Cejudo in a bantamweight bout, but Cejudo has pulled out due to injury so Vera will instead face Pedro Munhoz.

The middleweight bout between Gregory Rodrigues and Denis Tiuliulin, originally scheduled for June's UFC on ABC: Emmett vs Topuria, is one of the highlights of the UFC 292 preliminary card.
