5. Vinicius Junior - 32
Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has a fantastic opportunity to climb to the summit of the most assists leaderboard.
The mercurial Brazilian tallied eight assists during the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League campaign, which is one shy of the single season record held by James Milner during the 2018/19 season.
4. Neymar - 33
Neymar's numbers never quite matched up to his obscene talent but the Brazilian superstar still ranks prominently for the most assists in the UEFA Champions League.
Neymar registered an assist in every UEFA Champions League campaign but one from 2013 to 2023 - in Barcelona's 2014/15 title-winning season, Neymar scored 10 goals but didn't produce an assist as Luis Enrique's side toppled Juventus in the final.
3. Lionel Messi - 40
Like in the all-time goalscoring charts, Messi has been narrowly pipped by Cristiano Ronaldo in the UEFA Champions League assists table.
He registered his first assist in Barcelona's 5-0 win against Panathinaikos in 2005 and delivered his last when setting up Mbappe in PSG's 2-1 win over Juventus in 2022.
Messi registered five or more assists in three different UEFA Champions League seasons, including an impressive six in the 2014/15 campaign.
2. Angel Di Maria - 41
17 years on from his first UEFA Champions League assist for Benfica against Celtic, Di Maria made his final appearance in Europe's elite club competition at the Estádio da Luz.
A UEFA Champions League winner with Real Madrid in 2013/14, the Argentine's most productive spell came in the French capital with Paris Saint-Germain, registering 18 assists for the Ligue 1 outfit with Kylian Mbappe the primary beneficiary of his work.
1. Cristiano Ronaldo - 42
During the early stages of his glittering career, Ronaldo was deemed more of a creator than the clinical goal machine we witnessed him evolve into.
The forward had registered his sixth assist in the competition by the time he scored his first UEFA Champions League goal and through the years we saw his goal tally dwarf the number of assists he'd chalked up.
With that said, he still registered an assist across 15 consecutive UEFA Champions League campaigns for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
