Tyson Fury slides into Jake Paul's DMs to help facilitate Tommy Fury rematch

Jake Paul says he is open to a blockbuster rematch with Tommy Fury as the social media superstar reveals that two-time heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury has slid into his DMs in a bid to help make the fight happen.

The pair previously locked-horns in February 2023, with Fury controversially securing a narrow split-decision victory despite being laid flat out on the canvas by the American in the eighth and final round.

Both fighters have remained embroiled in a war of words since then with Paul vowing to avenge that defeat in a potential second fight and Fury insisting that he'd knock the 28-year-old out if they were ever to meet again.

Talks have been staged for the long-mooted rematch, however, despite Paul apparently offering his rival £6 million to share the ring for a second time last year, the bout failed to materialise, with the cruiserweight instead agreeing to a dust-up with 'Iron' Mike Tyson.

The Cleveland native has recently name-dropped Fury as one of six potential opponents being lined-up by his management team, alongside more illustrious boxing stars such as multi-time world champions Anthony Joshua, Canelo Alvarez and Gervonta 'Tank' Davis.

Whilst a clash with one of those is likely to take precedent, Paul is convinced that he will, in time, get his chance to tie up the series with the Briton, even revealing that Fury's brother, the Gypsy King, has intervened to fast-track those plans.

"I think the Fury fight will happen in the next 12 months, yeah - he (Tommy Fury) just has to be realistic about what he's worth, right?" Paul told the Ariel Helwani Show.

But I messaged Tyson Fury because Tyson was like, 'You guys need to make this happen now', and I was like, 'Tyson, you've got to put your brother in check here. He's not going to get this money or this offer anywhere else.'

- Jake Paul (The Ariel Helwani Show)

"He just had a free fight on DAZN that tanked, couldn't sell the tickets in wherever he was like a 1,000-person venue, and he's just negotiating like he's God.

"Again, I have ten names waiting to fight me in multiple different sports, MMA, boxing, all this stuff. These people just have to be realistic about what they're wanting to get paid, and Tommy Fury isn't.

"He already missed out on the massive opportunity on Netflix, his dad, who is his manager, has no idea what the f*** he's doing, and you can't let your dad run your career.

"Tommy's not his own boss, he's an airhead as well, so I just feel bad for him because he thinks he's worth more than what he's worth..."

Whilst Fury's career has somewhat stalled in the couple of years since their first showdown, Paul's, by contrast, has soared, with the American adamant that he is now a far better boxer than he was in 2023.

"I just can't wait to get back in there with this guy because in the past three years, I fought him two years into being a pro boxer, now it's been three years since then.

"It's just night and day, and he hasn't got any better, right! He's been boxing since he was six years old, it's going to be the same stuff, same coach, his dumbass dad.

"He hasn't got any better, so I just can't wait. Seriously, I can't wait to get in there with him, and whenever we can make that happen, it's going to be Christmas Day for me."

Paul returns to action in the early hours of Sunday June 29, as he takes on former middleweight champion of the world Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in Anaheim, California.
