Tyrhys Dolan potential next club

As Blackburn Rovers face an anxious wait to discover whether Tyrhys Dolan will commit his long-term future to the Lancashire outfit, a number of clubs are queuing up for the forward's services.

Dolan, whose current contract expires at the end of June, has been offered fresh terms by Blackburn but Dolan has openly expressed his desire to play at a higher level.

Blackburn signed Dolan when he was released from Preston's academy in 2020 and immediately thrust himself into contention under former Rovers boss Tony Mowbray before clocking up over 200 appearances for the 1994/95 Premier League champions.

As intrigue concerning Dolan's future continues to evolve, we've taken a look at where he may be playing his football next season.

Norwich City

Norwich City are expected to rejuvenate their playing squad following the appointment of Liam Manning as the club's head coach and the possible departure of Borja Sainz means the Canaries will be looking to reinforce their wide options.

Dolan's versatility in the forward areas certainly makes him an attractive proposition for Norwich as he's adept at playing on either flank and even through the middle.

Manning's project at Carrow Road features an ambition to finish in the top six of the Championship next term and that may lure Dolan, who has made no secret of his desire to play at the highest level.

Rangers

The Rangers rebuild commences this summer following the appointment of Russell Martin as their new head coach and Dolan ticks plenty of boxes for the Gers.

A number of wingers and wide forwards have been linked to the Ibrox club in recent weeks as they look to enhance their options in the attacking department, and Dolan is reportedly one name on their shortlist.

Requiring an injection of pace and ingenuity in their forward line, the temptation of playing for a club as grand as Rangers would be difficult for Dolan to turn down and the promise of European football next term is another factor that could tempt the 23-year-old north of the border.

Celtic

There appears to have been a number of individuals who have been linked to both Celtic and Rangers in the current window and the Scottish Premiership champions are known to be admirers of Dolan.

Despite the return of Jota in January, Brendan Rodgers is keen to bolster his forward options as they look to build on a strong showing in the UEFA Champions League last term and Dolan's expiring contract presents a profitable opportunity for the Bhoys to capitalise.

Like Rangers, the lure of playing for a club of Celtic's stature will be hard for Dolan to ignore.

Derby County

A move to Derby County would see Dolan reunite with his former boss John Eustace and the Rams would hope the presence of the former Blackburn boss will help to convince Dolan of a switch to the East Midlands.

Finances may be an issue for Derby, who are wary of being priced out of a move for Dolan given their current wage structure, while the individual himself may consider a switch to Pride Park as a sidewards step instead of a leap forward.

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough have reportedly been long-term admirers of Dolan but as the Teesiders search for Michael Carrick's successor, it's unclear as to whether the incoming manager would wish to pursue a move for the 23-year-old.

The expiration of Sam Iling-Junior's loan means there is a void that needs to be filled on the left flank, while Dolan's presence on the right could also enable Morgan Whittaker to operate in a central role.
