Turki Alalshikh hints at UK venture for Canelo Alvarez with Chris Eubank Jr and Hamzah Sheeraz name-checked

Turki Alalshikh has hinted Canelo Alvarez could be set for his first fight on British shores next year with both Chris Eubank Jr and Hamzah Sheeraz mooted as potential opponents for the Mexican.

Upcoming Fights & Bet Boosts

The current undisputed super-middleweight champion is first gearing up for his hugely-anticipated showdown with fellow boxing great Terence Crawford on September 13.

The pair will lock-horns in a true super fight in Las Vegas with all the marbles at 168lbs on the line as unbeaten American Crawford jumps up a couple of divisions in a bid to cement himself as the greatest fighter of his generation.

Beyond that showdown however, Canelo is tied down to at least two more fights under the Riyadh Season umbrella, with Saudi bank-roller Alalshikh already laying out his plans for the 34-year-old.

"It's going to be against one of the two options, (Hamzah) Sheeraz or (Chris) Eubank Jr," he told The Ring Magazine when quizzed on what's next for Canelo.

We will see exactly who over the next couple of months - there is a lot riding on the upcoming fights for both men.

Sheeraz returns to action against Edgar Berlanga in a blockbuster super-middleweight showdown on July 12, whilst Eubank Jr is edging closer to his rematch with Conor Benn, with a September or October date expected to be announced shortly.

Queensberry star Sheeraz - touted as a future world champion - is coming off a controversial split draw with Carlos Adames back in February - a clash many felt he had lost in what proved to be a lethargic first crack at a coveted world title.

Meanwhile Eubank Jr will hope to finally secure a long sought after showdown with Canelo having seen talks breakdown on numerous occasions in the past.

The Brighton man defeated Benn via the judges scorecards in a pulsating first clash in April with the two now set to run it back against during either the last weekend of September or first weekend of October.

Alalshikh's revelation that Canelo will take on either Sheeraz or Eubank Jr has upped the ante ahead of each of their fights.

A career high payday awaits one of the two, as well as a potential shot at all of the super-middleweight gold, providing, of course, Canelo retains his championship against Crawford.
