The record nine-time Melbourne champion opens up against Roberto Carballes Baena in the first round, with the Spaniard currently ranked 75th in the world.

The two men have met just once before, with Djokovic easing to a straight-sets win in the first round of the US Open in 2019 and the Serb is 2/9 to triumph in three sets again.

Also in action during the night session is second seed Casper Ruud, with the Norwegian having reached the finals of both the French Open and the US Open last year - being denied by Rafael Nadal in Paris and Carlos Alcaraz in New York.

He starts against Czech Toma Machac, while the second seed is also in action in the women’s draw as Ons Jabeur takes on Tamara Zidansek of Slovenia.

The pick of the FA Cup third-round replays taking place on Tuesday comes at Molineux, as Wolves play host to holders Liverpool.

The two sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Anfield just over a week ago, before Wolves climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone with a 1-0 weekend win at home to West Ham.

The Reds, meanwhile, were well beaten at Brighton, going down 3-0 to the Seagulls to drop down to ninth place in the standings.

Prior to their draw in their initial meeting, Liverpool had won the previous seven meetings of these two sides, although that run started after a 2-1 Wolves victory at Molineux in the third round of the FA Cup in January 2019.
