The last-16 of the 2022/23 edition of the Champions League is starting to take shape, with 12 teams having already booked their spots in the knockout phase ahead of the final round of group matches.

Two clubs still vying to stay alive in the competition are Marseille and Tottenham and Tuesday’s clash at the Stade Velodrome should be full of fireworks.

Spurs head into Matchday six at the top of the standings in Group D with eight points, while Sporting Lisbon and Eintracht Frankfurt, who are second and third respectively, are a point further back and Marseille are bottom with six to their name.

All four clubs can still secure a route through to the last-16 and it looks set to be a very interesting night full of twists and turns.

Marseille were holding their own in the reverse fixture in north London, but Chancel Mbemba’s sending-off, just minutes into the second half allowed Tottenham to take control and they earned a 2-0 win courtesy of a late double from Richarlison.

A draw is enough for Spurs to advance, but Antonio Conte can’t afford to take the risk of playing for just a point and both clubs should be gunning for all three points.

Championship: Rovers look to return to the top

The Championship has been as unpredictable as ever this season and the race for top spot is proving to be a very exciting one.

Blackburn Rovers have the opportunity to climb to the summit on Tuesday when they hit the road to face 22nd-placed Coventry City.

Rovers start the midweek round of fixtures in second and just two points adrift of Burnley, who play Rotherham United on Wednesday, after winning four in a row.

Jon Dahl Tomasson has done a fine job since replacing Tony Mowbray in the Ewood Park hotseat over the summer and they head to the Sky Blues full of confidence.

Coventry’s position in the table is slightly false due to the fact they’ve played at least two fewer games than most of the other sides in the division.

They saw a four-game unbeaten run, which included three victories, come to an end on Saturday at home to Blackpool and they look set for another tough assignment against Rovers.

There are four meetings scheduled to take place in the UK on Tuesday, with action coming from Redcar, Warwick, Southwell and Newcastle.

It’s the final fixture of the season at Redcar, where six races will play out between 1.20 and 4.05, with heavy overnight rain meaning that the 3.05 and 3.35 contests on the round course have been abandoned.

Warwick’s seven-race card begins at 1.00 and concludes at 4.20, while they go off on nine occasions at Southwell between 1.10 and 5.30.

Newcastle hosts the final card on Tuesday with eight races playing out from 4.10 through to 7.45.
