Tuesday's Sport: Fallon Sherrock begins World Championship bid

It's day six of the World Darts Championship on Tuesday and the evening session will see Fallon Sherrock begin her quest for glory against Ricky Evans at Alexandra Palace.

Raymond van Barneveld also takes to the oche, while the EFL Cup action continues with four more fourth-round ties to get stuck into across the evening, as Rangers also make the trip to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

EFL Cup: Magpies continue trophy quest

What: Newcastle v Bournemouth
Where: St James' Park, Newcastle
When: 19:45, Tuesday 20th December
Odds: Newcastle 9/20, Draw 16/5, Bournemouth 13/2

Newcastle are enjoying a fantastic season and they have only suffered one defeat across all competitions ahead of Tuesday's EFL cup visit of Bournemouth.

The Magpies are yet to taste defeat at home this term - winning six (one on penalties) and drawing three - while they have only lost once at St James' Park in their last 18 competitive assignments.

Bournemouth are without a win in their last six meetings with Newcastle, but the Cherries did win back-to-back matches before the World Cup break and will be hopeful of extending that stretch to three.

With Alexander Isak injured and Callum Wilson's availability unclear, Chris Wood is likely to start up front for Eddie Howe's men and the New Zealander, who netted in the 2-1 win over Tranmere in round two, is 6/4 To Score Anytime.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Leicester travel to Milton Keynes Dons, Southampton play host to Lincoln City and Gillingham take on Wolves at Molineux - all are 19:45 starts.

Scottish Premiership: Beale hoping for more of the same

What: Aberdeen v Rangers
Where: Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen
When: 20:00, Tuesday 20th December
How to watch: Sky Sports Football & Main Event
Odds: Aberdeen 19/4, Draw 3/1, Rangers 3/5

Michael Beale enjoyed an eventful first game as Rangers manager last Thursday, as his side edged a 3-2 thriller at home to Hibernian to get the new boss off to a winning start.

The former QPR chief takes charge for the second time on Tuesday when his team travel to Pittodrie Stadium to face Aberdeen, who are one place and 11 points behind the Gers.

Aberdeen's six-game winning streak at home was ended by Celtic last time out, so they will be eager to make amends for this and take the scalp of Rangers.

Priced at 13/10, the Dons look like an attractive price in the Double Chance market.

Darts: Queen of the Palace returns

What: Ricky Evans v Fallon Sherrock
Where: Alexandra Palace, London
When: 20:45, Tuesday 20th December
How to watch: Sky Sports
Odds: Ricky Evans 1/4, Fallon Sherrock 3/1

Sherrock delighted the Ally Pally crowd in 2020 when reaching the third round, becoming the first female player to win a match at a PDC World Championship.

Earning the nickname the 'Queen of the Palace' for that outing, the 28-year-old failed to qualify for the 2021 edition, but she is back for the 2022 tournament and will take on Ricky Evans in round one.

Evans is one of the quickest players and usually throws three darts within three to five seconds of approaching the oche, leading to him being nicknamed 'Rapid'.

Also playing in Tuesday's evening session is van Barneveld, who won this event in 2007 and will take on Ryan Meikle in round two.

The Dutchman is 4/9 in the Match Winner market, while his English foe is priced at 7/4.
