Sevilla have stopped the bleeding since Julen Lopetegui was axed, but their resurgence will be severely tested by Valencia in one of three La Liga matches on Tuesday.
High-fliers Atletico Madrid entertain Rayo Vallecano in the late game in Spain, while Athletic Bilbao head to the capital to take on Getafe.
Cup action takes centre stage in Italy and Germany where the likes of Cittadella and Elversberg will be looking to continue their giantkilling form.
What | Sevilla v Valencia, La Liga |
Where | Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Seville |
When | 18:00, Tuesday 18th October 2022 |

Odds | Sevilla 5/4, Valencia 11/5, Draw 12/5 |
Sevilla are out of the bottom three and looking up thanks to Saturday's 1-0 win at Mallorca, though their upturn will undergo a far stiffer examination when Valencia visit the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
It's been a disastrous start to the season for Sevilla, with a Champions League campaign to forget and just one win in their first seven in the league.
That run cost Julen Lopetegui his job and now Jorge Sampaoli is repairing the mess.
They are unbeaten in three matches under Sampaoli - though the fact that keeper Yassine Bounou was man of the match at Mallorca would be a concern - and self-belief is returning.
And they'll need that against Valencia, who are unbeaten in four and who have scored 15 goals in their last six. Edinson Cavani got the last two of those before limping out of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Elche.
What | Atletico Madrid v Rayo Vallecano, La Liga |
Where | Estadio Metropolitana, Madrid |
When | 20:00, Tuesday 18th October 2022 |

Odds | Atletico Madrid 11/20, Rayo Vallecano 6/1, Draw 11/4 |
Like Sevilla, Atletico Madrid are facing an early exit from the Champions League although at least their fate is still in their own hands.
In the Spanish top-flight, however, things are looking much rosier with three straight wins sending them up to third, and Saturday's gutsy 1-0 win at Athletic Bilbao illustrated they still know how to battle their way to three points.
The presumption is they will find Rayo a much easier nut to crack and since they've won nine of their ten previous league meetings (the tenth was a draw), it's easy to see why Diego Simeone's men are 11/20 shots.
Having said that, four of their last five wins over Rayo were by 1-0 scorelines - a 5/1 shot for correct-score punters - and each of the last six showdowns between the pair have produced under 2.5 goals - that's 8/11 this time around.

What | Genoa v SPAL, Coppa Italia |
Where | Stadio Luigi Ferraris, Genoa |
When | 17:00, Tuesday 18th October 2022 |
How to watch | bet365 Sports Live Streaming |
Odds | Genoa 11/20, SPAL 17/4, Draw 3/1 |
Last-64 giantkillers SPAL and Cittadella are one win away from dream ties in the Coppa Italia.
SPAL, who saw off Empoli in the last round, now have to win at Serie B stablemates Genoa to book a trip to Roma in the last 16 and that would mean the world to new SPAL boss and Roma legend Daniele de Rossi.
The trip to Genoa is just De Rossi's second match in charge, the first being Saturday's 0-0 draw at Cittadella.
As for Cittadella, they won at Lecce in the last 64 and now travel to another Serie A giant, Torino, with the winners going to AC Milan.
What | Elversberg v Bochum, DFB Pokal |
Where | Ursapharm Arena, Spiesen-Elversberg |
When | 19:45, Tuesday 18th October, 202 |
How to watch | bet365 Sports Live Streaming |
Odds | Elversberg 3/1, Bochum 19/20, Draw 5/2 |
Bochum are on a hiding to nothing in the second round of the DFB-Pokal with a trip to 3.Liga leaders SV Elversberg.
The opening round of the Pokal throws up its share of shocks and Elversberg certainly obliged by taking down Bayer Leverkusen.
And, having seen off one Bundesliga struggler, they'll fancy their chances of landing odds of 3/1 against the top division's bottom club.
The lowest-ranked side in action on Tuesday night are VfB Lubeck, runaway and unbeaten leaders of Regionalliga Nord - Germany's fourth tier - who take on Mainz, 2-0 winners at Werder Bremen at the weekend.
