Despite having yet to put pen to paper on a new contract at Liverpool, with his existing deal scheduled to run out next summer, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is odds-on to remain a Reds player for next season.

Aged 33, Van Dijk could be forgiven for showing signs of slowing down, but in the Dutchman's case he only seems to be getting better as part of a Liverpool side hunting down silverware on a number of fronts under Arne Slot this term.

The Reds are likely eager to tie the Netherlands international down to a new contract as soon as possible considering there will be no shortage of suitors should Van Dijk contemplate a move elsewhere.

La Liga giants Barcelona have been mooted as a possible alternative destination for Van Dijk should he opt to leave Anfield, whilst the towering central defender would also represent a coup for wealthy Saudi Pro League clubs seeking a marquee signing, but it's Paris Saint-Germain who've seen the recent money, prompting a swift slashing of his odds.
