Viktor Gyokeres Next Club Odds: Market suspended as Arsenal close in

Betting has been suspended on Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres' next club following reports Arsenal are closing in on signing the 27-year-old.

Formerly of Brighton and Coventry City, Sweden international Gyokeres has proven a revelation at Sporting - netting 43 goals in all competitions in his maiden season in 2023/24.

Having only acquired Gyokeres as recently as the summer of 2023, reigning Portuguese champions Sporting were desperate to hold onto their prized asset for as long as possible.

However, given the Swede reportedly has a release clause of €65m (£54m), Sporting have been powerless in preventing Europe's biggest clubs from making a move.

Arsenal seem almost certain to be the next destination for Gyokeres with multiple reports suggesting the Premier League side and Sporting are in advanced talks over a deal for the transfer to take place and be confirmed in the coming days.
