World number one Jannik Sinner has accepted an immediate three-month ban from tennis after a settlement was reached with the World Anti-Doping Agency.
The suspension follows Sinner testing positive for two banned substances in March 2024, despite being found of no wrongdoing by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA).
In a statement released by his lawyers, Sinner said: "I have always accepted that I am responsible for my team and realise Wada's strict rules are an important protection for the sport I love. On that basis I have accepted Wada's offer to resolve these proceedings on the basis of a three-month sanction."
Sinner was crowned Australian Open champion for the second year running in January after conquering Alexander Zverev in the final.
It was the Italian's third Grand Slam triumph having lifted the US Open title at Flushing Meadows in September 2024.
Sinner's suspension concludes on 4 May, two weeks before the start of the French Open, meaning the Italian is eligible to play in the Parisian Grand Slam event.
In 2024, he reached the semi-finals before suffering defeat to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in five sets.
