The most lucrative event in golf, the Tour Championship sees 30 players fight it out to win the FedExCup.
While the FedExCup itself has undergone a number of changes over the years, the Tour Championship has largely remained the same. Between 2019 and 2024, the Tour Championship was played with 'starting strokes', rewarding players for their performances across the PGA Tour season with an advantage to start the final event.
That system was abolished in 2025, with the event returning to its classic 72-hole strokeplay format, with which came a bonus pool paid out to players after the BMW Championship, rather than the Tour Championship.
Scottie Scheffler again topped the bonus pool money in 2026, earning $22,000,000, ahead of Matt Fitzpatrick who earned $12,000,000 and Wyndham Clark, who moved from fifth to third with his BMW Championship win, taking home $7,000,000 in bonus money.
Tommy Fleetwood won his first PGA Tour event at last year's Tour Championship, claiming the $10,000,000 first prize which remains in place for the 2026 edition.
