Tottenham dealt Dejan Kulusevski injury blow ahead of Europa League final

Influential Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dejan Kulusevski is doubtful for the UEFA Europa League final after he was forced off in the first-half of the Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace.

The Swedish star was substituted just 20 minutes into the disappointing 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace after sustaining a knee injury.

Kulusevski has been one of Tottenham's brightest sparks in a thoroughly disappointing domestic campaign which sees them currently occupy 17th place in the Premier League.

He has netted 10 goals and provided 11 assists this season, whilst occupying a number of different positions as the club have had to combat a disastrous spell of injuries to key players.

Manager Ange Postecoglou is already without midfielders James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall for the remainder of the season due to injury.

The potential loss of former Juventus winger Kulusevski would give Postecoglou another headache as he looks to rescue a torrid campaign by leading the club to their first trophy for 17 years and UEFA Champions League football next season.

Tottenham are next in action when they travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Friday, a match in which Kulusevski is likely to sit out regardless of his fitness.

With just 10 days to prepare for the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United, Postecoglou will be hoping that he will be able to call upon one of his primary sources of creativity.
