Italian clubs are experiencing a resurgence in the UEFA Champions League following a period of regression of club football in the country.

The UEFA Champions League has always been synonymous with strong Italian clubs.

Juventus (2), A.C. Milan (7) and Inter Milan (3) have all won the competition, whilst Fiorentina, A.S. Roma and Sampdoria have all previously fallen short in the final.

Italian players have performed strongly in European competition in recent years, resulting in the national team's triumph at Euro 2020.

Only Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli and Daniele De Rossi remain from the 2006 Italian World Cup winning squad, highlighting their impressive longevity.

Despite this, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Jorginho are the only players on this list to have won the competition.
