Tommy Fury set for June bout against strongman Eddie Hall in Manchester

Tommy Fury is set to face former World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall in an extraordinary crossover bout at the AO Arena in Manchester on 13th June.

Fury hasn't stepped into the ring since his unanimous decision victory over Kenan Hanjalic in May last year, his return from a lengthy layoff due to a persistent hand injury.

Prior to that, he enjoyed a strong 2023 in which he recorded points successes over Jake Paul and KSI.

Hall, on the other hand, has been away from the squared circle since losing to another former strongman in Hafthor Bjornsson all the way back in March 2022, though he has ventured into the world of MMA since.

'The Beast' went viral in 2024 when clips of his win in a 2v1 bout against the Neffati Brothers of Tunisia did the rounds on social media. He then dispatched five-time World's Strongest Man winner and 28-fight veteran Mariusz Pudzianowski in 27 seconds in April last year.

The weight difference for the bout will be stark. Eddie Hall weighed in at 334lbs against Pudzianowski, while Fury has only fought as high as cruiserweight (200lbs), so it is likely that there could be over 100lbs difference between the two come the weigh in in June.

It will be interesting to see how the pair sell the fight as the relationship between the two seems to be a friendly one, Fury has appeared as a guest on Hall's YouTube channel on multiple occasions, as well as sitting down for an emotional conversation about Fury's injury and layoff on the podcast 'The Good, The Bad & The Beast'.

Rumours of a bout between Dillion Danis and Eddie Hall persist, though it will be an afterthought in the 2017 World Strongman winner's mind now as a clash with Tyson Fury's undefeated half-brother looms.
