Saturday is a bumper day of horse racing featuring five UK meetings in total, with graded action at both Haydock and Ascot.

What Horse Racing is on today?

Jumps racing dominates proceedings on Saturday, with the recent rain sure to give those returning raiders who have connections already looking towards March and Cheltenham plenty to ponder. 

They go over the obstacles at Haydock, Huntingdon and Ascot, while flat fans can look forward to a combined 18 races across all-weather cards at Lingfield and Wolverhampton.

There is an early start to Saturday’s racing at Lingfield where they go off nine times, with the opener scheduled at 11.05 and the closer coming at 3.30.

The first race is a Handicap for three-year-olds-and-over over 7f, with the final contest on the card another handicap for the same age category but this time over 1m2f.

It is Betfair Chase Day at Haydock, with A Plus Tard returning to the scene of his 22-length win 12 months ago, a result that set him up for a career-best run to take out the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Rachael Blackmore is again on board for the feature at 3.00, the highlight of a strong card that begins with a 1m7½f Listed Novices’ Hurdle for four-year-olds-and-over at 12.10 and concludes with a Handicap Chase for four-year-olds-and-over and again raced over 3m1½f.

Jumps is again the focus at Huntingdon, with a 2m Maiden Hurdle for three-year-olds-and-over getting things going at 12.15.

An Open Maiden National Hunt Flat Race for three-year-olds over 1m5½f then wraps up the Cambridgeshire card at 3.43.

Ascot’s septet of contests runs from 12.20 to 3.50 and is headlined by a couple of Grade 2s. The 1965 Chase goes off at 2.05, before The Ascot Hurdle heads to post at 2.40.

In the former, Cheltenham winner L’Homme Presse starts his seven-year-old campaign for Venetia Williams, while 35 minutes later, Constitution Hill lines up for a shot at winning what has become his connections’ favoured first run of the season for the third year in a row.

Saturday's late action has a familiar feel to it with all-weather racing at Wolverhampton there to take punters into the evening.

The opener at 4.30 is a 1m6f Handicap for three-year-olds-and-over and the ninth and final race goes off at 8.30. It is another Handicap for the same age category but this time is run over 1m½f.

As ever, all of today’s racing can be watched on the bet365 Sports Live Streaming service.

Racing TV will be showing the meetings from Haydock and Huntingdon, while the cards at Lingfield, Ascot and Wolverhampton will be on Sky Sports Racing.

ITV will also be broadcasting selected racing from Haydock and Ascot between 1.30 and 4.05.
