Thomas Carty's manager Mike Ofo has claimed Dave Allen should have been disqualified when the heavyweights met on Saturday night.
The showdown between Allen and former Irish champion Carty served as the chief support for Katie Taylor's boxing farewell last weekend, with 80,000 fans packing into Croke Park in Dublin.
After a couple of early exchanges Allen appeared to catch Carty with a shot to the back of the head when the pair clinched up.
Moments later Allen again hit his opponent in the clinch, with Carty subsequently tumbling out of the ring ropes and becoming ensnared in a stool at ringside after hitting the floor.
Carty was subsequently taken out of the stadium on a stretcher and the fight was ruled a no contest, but the Irishman's manager Ofo insists Allen should have been disqualified for what he says was an illegal strike prior to the bizarre ending.
"I am very disappointed about what happened on Saturday night at Croke Park and the untimely halt to what should have been the crowning achievement of Thomas' career so far." Ofo told Sky Sports.
"Thomas was pumped to be fighting on such an historic event in front of such an enormous crowd at the home of Irish sport and was gutted by the bizarre turn of events.
"What happened was plain for all to see with Allen blatantly fouling him twice in quick succession in response to Thomas' punishing jab that immediately marked up Allen's face.
"The second, illegal rabbit punch to the back of Thomas' head knocked him clean through the ropes and there is only one outcome under the rules of boxing in those circumstances - a DQ loss for Allen."
Speaking on social media after the fight Allen said that he did not intend for the punch to land to the back of Carty's head and added that he was surprised the referee had not counted him out after he was unable to get back into the ring.
In response to Allen's claims Ofo accused the former commonwealth title challenger of 'gaslighting', and insisted that Carty would be happy to have a rematch following an appeal to the Boxing Union of Ireland.
He continued: I see he is already busy trying to set a narrative but that is gaslighting and Thomas and the team were all confident that he would have stopped Allen in the later rounds, particularly in light of the terrible shape Allen turned up in.
"Frankly, he should change his nickname from 'The White Rhino' to 'The White Hippo!'
"Once the BUI have reconsidered the referee's decision and done the right thing, we will happily give Allen a rematch and they can settle it once and for all - hopefully inside the ring this time!"
