Frank Warren has organised another evening of boxing, which looks set to be memorable for the watching fans, with no fewer than seven major title fights on the same bill.
On a Saturday evening in March 2024, the eyes of UK boxing will be on Birmingham for a packed night of top action in the ring.
Amongst the names set to be fighting in the ‘The Magnificent 7’ event are Joe Joyce, Nathan Heaney, Soloman Dacres and Liam Davies.
The big night of UK boxing action will take place on Saturday, 16th March 2024, with seven mouth-watering bouts on the agenda.
The event will be hosted at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, which is currently the fifth-largest indoor arena in the UK.
The AO Arena has previously been the venue for the Horse of the Year Show and Sports Personality of the Year and has a capacity of 15,685.
Arguably the highlight of the night sees Stoke’s Nathan Heaney make the first defence of his British middleweight title, as he faces English champion Brad Pauls.
Heaney won his belt at last year’s Magnificent 7 event with an impressive win over Denzel Bentley but will face another stern test against Harlow’s Pauls, who has lost just one of his 18 professional fights.
Liam Davies was another who fought in November’s offering, and he will challenge for the IBO world super bantamweight on the 16th March.
The British, WBC International and European champion, who is from nearby Telford, will take on Mexico’s Erik Robles Ayala.
Another of the seven bouts sees a domestic dual between Dennis McCann and Brad Strand, with the vacant WBO Intercontinental super bantamweight title on the line. McCann is the Commonwealth champion, while Strand is the undefeated WBO European belt holder.
Two unbeaten welterweight fighters collide in a fight with the WBO European title and the vacant English belt on the line, as current European champ Eithan James (12-0) clashes with Owen Cooper - the Midlands Area champion.
There are two heavyweight contests on the evening, with English champion Soloman Dacres to face an as-yet unknown opponent.
Meanwhile, Joe Joyce will look to respond following back-to-back defeats to Zhilei Zhang when the former Olympic medalist faces former IBF European champion Kash Ali.
The other bout, on a packed night of action, will see Derbyshire’s super-middleweight Zach Parker fight former WBA world champion Tyron Zeuge.
The top-class evening of boxing action on Saturday, 16th March, is set to be shown to UK viewers on TNT Sport.
The Heaney vs Pauls fight will top the bill on what is being built as ‘The Magnificent 7 Ride Again!’, with Heaney 1/3 to come out on top and Pauls available at 12/5.
Zach Parker is 1/6 to defeat Tyron Zeuge, who can be backed at 4/1, while Joe Joyce is a big 1/20 favourite to defeat his opponent, Kash Ali.
Liam Davies is odds-on (2/5) to beat his overseas opponent, Erik Robles Ayala – with the Mexican available to back at 10/1.
Ethan James is expected to defend his European belt, with the man from Northampton 1/2 to defeat Owen Cooper on the night. While Dennis McCann is 1/3 to beat Brad Strand, who can be backed at 12/5.
