This year saw the most dramatic change in the competition since its launch with Piccadilly Lights hosting an IPL-style auction in London.

As a result, there was a surge of money invested into the unique tournament, bringing up the Men's salary cap by 45% to £2.05m per team.

21-year-old James Coles grabbed the headlines by becoming the most-expensive player in the tournament's history at an eye-watering £390,000 after London Spirit fended off bids from both Sunrisers Leeds and Trent Rockets.
