The eighth edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards saw Lionel Messi crowned Best Men's Player for the third time in London.
The winners of FIFA's The Best Awards for 2023 were determined by a combination of fans, national team coaches, national team captains and media members from the collection of FIFA member nations, based on performances between 19th December 2022 and 20th August 2023.
At the 2023 awards ceremony in London, Messi and Aitana Bonmati came away with the top prizes in the male and female categories respectively.
The latest in a long list of individual accolades for 36-year old Messi, this recognition comes following his momentous World Cup victory with his country Argentina in Qatar in December 2022, with Bonmati collecting the Best Women's Player award after winning the Women's World Cup with Spain and a stunning treble of trophies with Barcelona.
