Naturally on the back of her 2024 success, Aryna Sabalenka is favourite for the 2025 crown. While Iga Swiatek may have established herself as the dominant force on clay, it's Sabalenka who reigns supreme on hard court.
The Belarusian has won a remarkable 32 of her last 34 matches on the surface across the Australian and US Opens, and 23 of her last 26 matches at Flushing Meadows.
Should she maintain her form into the 2025 iteration, Sabalenka will prove very hard to beat.
As the best player in the world, Swiatek is the second favourite, and while clay is certainly her preferred surface, she does have a win at the US Open, when she beat Sabalenka in the semi-finals, going on to beat Ons Jabeur in the final.
Home favourite and 2023 champions Coco Gauff is the current third favourite and will be desperate to improve on her fourth-round exit to Emma Navarro from 2024.
