The third edition of the United Cup takes place in Australia across the coming days and into early 2025 as 18 competing nations strive to follow the United States and Germany as winners.
There will be lots of action across the group stages and into the knockouts, with games played in both Perth and Sydney.
Alexander Zverev inspired Germany to glory last year and will lead the six-player defending champs this time in the mixed-gender event.
The first week of the competition features a group phase, with six groups of three countries playing each other in a round robin format where each tie will consist of one men's and one women's singles match, and one mixed doubles match.
The six group winners and the best runner-up in each city will advance to the quarter-finals. The knockout rounds are played on the same basis, with one men's and one women's singles match, and one mixed doubles match to decide which team progresses.

The United Cup was introduced in 2022, replacing the all-male ATP Cup event, as a mixed-gender team competition. It serves as one of the preparatory events for the Australian Open, played in Melbourne in January.
It is the first mixed-gender team event to offer both ATP rankings and WTA rankings points to competing players.
The United States won the inaugural United Cup in 2023, defeating Italy 4-0 in the final as the team of Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, Madison Keys and Jessica Pegula proved too strong.
The format was reduced for the 2024 edition, with three matches deciding each tie. Germany overcame Poland in a tense final with Alexander Zverev leading the way as he won his singles match against Hubert Hurkacz and then teamed up with Laura Siegemund to win the decisive mixed doubles against Hurkacz and Iga Swiatek.
Germany denied Australia a spot in the final last year, while the defending champs, the United States, failed to get out of a tough group that contained the Aussies and Great Britain.
