Andy Murray will begin his final tournament in professional tennis when he and Dan Evans take on Japanese pair Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori in the first round of the men's doubles at the Olympics in Paris.
Two-time Olympic champion Murray announced earlier this week that he would be retiring following the conclusion of the Games and, after withdrawing from the singles, his focus is now solely on the doubles alongside fellow Briton Evans.
This first-round match in the men's doubles will be shown in full on Eurosport 3.
The contest is expected to get underway at 11:00 BST on Sunday 28th August and, like the whole of the tennis programme at this year's Olympics, it will take place at Roland Garros.
Murray is a two-time Olympic gold medallist, triumphing in the men's singles in both 2012 and 2016, while he also landed a silver medal medal alongside Laura Robson in the mixed doubles at the Games in London 12 years ago,
Evans will be competing at his first Olympics and will also be involved in the men's singles in Paris, having been drawn in the first round against Tunisia's Moez Echargui in that competition.
Nishikori is a proven singles player, reaching a career-high ranking of number four and making it through to the final of the US Open in 2014, while in doubles he progressed as far as the Olympic quarter-finals alongside Ben McLachlan in Tokyo in 2021.
Daniel has limited doubles experience, but he currently holds a singles ranking of 90 and reached the third round of the men's competition at the Olympics in 2016.
These two doubles pairings have never previously faced off against each other on the ATP Tour.
